Baripada- 24.12.2025, 1) Sri Gouranga Charan Mohanty, OAS, Former Special Land Acquisition Officer( LAO), Subarnarekha Irrigation Project (SIP), Laxmiposi, Baripada, Dist-Mayurbhanj (Retired), 2) Sri Akhandal Prasad Mohanty, Former Branch Manager, BOI, NOU Branch, Takatpur, Baripada (Retired), 3) Sri Purusotom Mohanty, Former Staff Officer of BOI, NOU Branch, Takatpur, Baripada (Retired), 4) Sri Sudam Chandra Sahoo, Former Clerk of BOI, NOU Branch, Takatpur, Baripada (Retired) and 5) Sri Santanu Kumar Kar, Former Head Cashier of BOI, NOU Branch, Takatpur, Baripada (Retired), who were charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance 13(2) r/w 13(1)(c)(d) PC Act.1988/403/409/467/468/471/477-A/120-B IPC *for misappropriating Govt. money to the tune of Rs.37,08,708/- (Interest accrued amount) by forging documents in violation of the norms and conditions of the Bank and also without authorization from the Govt.*, were convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada. *The Hon’ble Court sentenced all the convicts to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years each and fine of Rs.50,000/-*.
*Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Sri Gouranga Charan Mohanty, OAS, Former Special LAO, Subarnarekha Irrigation Project (SIP), Laxmiposi, Baripada, Dist-Mayurbhanj (Retired) and other four convicts( Retired Bank Officials) following their conviction*.
